This listing is for a handmade journal sewn in the coptic style with brown waxed linen thread, which is durable and strong. The pages are my high quality recycled vegan watercolor handmade paper, which is made in house in Ashland, Wisconsin from recycled materials. The coptic binding of this journal allows the book to lay completely flat when open, creating its own flat surface for use away from a desk.

The cover was made by RixDidIt, LLC from a cedar fence post and finished with mineral oil to make the grain really stand out. The front and back covers are cut from the same piece of wood and aligned so the grain runs through from front to back.

These covers are durable and can be reused once you’ve gone through all the pages. Just message me and we can arrange shipment back and I can bind in new pages for a reduced price.

All of the pages and end pages are my own handmade recycled paper. I carefully select the papers I intend to recycle to make my handmade paper, as some materials commonly recycled to make homemade paper have themselves been recycled so many times that they have essentially no fiber content and are overloaded with inks and dyes. The materials I use are selected to create a versatile paper that is soft to the touch, easily worked with, and eco friendly. Each sheet of paper used in these pages is inspected individually at several stages to insure there are no holes, weak spots, wrinkles, or other flaws.
