This journal is made from archival board, which was covered in a pair of pages from a vintage encyclopedia.
The pages are a mix of materials, including many colors of handmade paper, some upcycled topographic map, tracing paper, and encyclopedia pages. It was bound in the coptic style using black waxed linen thread, which allows the book to lay completely flat when open. The coptic binding makes it a great book to write or sketch in while you're away from a desk.
This journal would be great as a mixed media sketch or scrap book. The many different textures and surfaces would be a great playground to collage, sketch, draw with markers, paint, or to write in.
Making paper is a meditative process for me. There's something very relaxing to the simple, repetitive process. The end result of having a crisp, clean sheet of paper brings to mind endless possibilities. Anything that may have been upsetting or stressful before just melts away after I open up a whole world of opportunities with that one simple sheet of paper.
This paper is good to use with:
pen
colored pencil
ink
highlighter
marker
acrylic paints
pencil
computer printer
stamps
glue
watercolor paint
Your order will be packaged in biodegradable and upcycled materials, including cardboard, newsprints, and biodegradable PLA film bags made from plant fibers.
