This listing is for one sheet of 8.5x11 inch handmade paper, made from various raw plant fibers. Available (in drop down menu), are corn husk paper, corn husk card stock, mixed field grass paper, flower stem paper, flower stem mixed with recycled paper, and mixed fiber paper.
I try to create as little waste as possible from my business, which means that every little bit of paper that I make is either sold; used for collages, journals, or book pendants; or recycled into the next batch. When I teamed up with a local florist to turn their wilted and unsellable flower petals into beautiful floral handmade paper, I wanted to continue to minimize waste. So when the flower petals are plucked and dried, the stems of the flowers are cut up, cooked down, and turned into this wonderfully textured, rustic handmade paper.
These thick, rough plant fibers behave differently than my usual recycled materials, so the finished paper doesn't behave in the same way and may not be suitable for exactly the same purposes. I would not recommend this paper be used for writing with pencils or hard, fine-nib calligraphy pens that might snag on the fibers and tear a hole in the paper.
It is not recommended that you run this paper through a home printer, but screen printing, wood block, or linoleum block printing will likely do fine. Message me prior to purchase if you are unsure and we can work out sending a sample for you to try first.
This paper would be great for collage, use as accent papers for invitations and cards, or backing material for photos.
Each sheet is approximately 8.5 by 11 inches (216 × 279 mm).
Your order will be packaged in biodegradable and upcycled materials, including cardboard, newsprints, and biodegradable PLA film bags made from plant fibers.
